Area Supevisor

Oversee work within their assigned area, ensure tasks are completed, and monitor Tunnelmen activities, crop maintenance progress, irrigation schedules, EC readings, and daily updates.

• Verify that tasks delegated by the Farm Manager are completed correctly.
• Sign off on the cleaning tractor’s daily loads.
• Supervise Tunnel Workers and ensure their daily tasks are completed.
• Monitor irrigation activities and ensure watering schedules are followed.
• Personally measure and record EC, water and runoff at each station.
• Oversee pump house operations, including daily water pressure checks and filter cleaning.
• Delegate smaller tasks to Tunnel Workers and verify their completion.
• Report issues and progress to the Farm Manager.
• Sign off daily irrigation measurements and required checks.

Important: The Area Supervisor must personally perform and sign off EC and irrigation measurements. These responsibilities cannot be delegated.

1. View Daily Responsibilities

• Log in to DGOSA.
• View assigned farm, blocks, and field areas.
• View daily instructions from the Farm Manager.
• Review irrigation schedules, Tunnelmen tasks, pump house checks, and outstanding work.
• Review previous EC readings, water measurements, and daily comments.

2. Manage Tunnelmen

• View Tunnelmen assigned to each field or field area.
• Review the daily tasks assigned to each Tunnelman.
• Delegate smaller tasks such as weeding, cleaning, or fixing pipes.
• Monitor the progress of assigned tasks.
• Follow up on incomplete work.

3. Perform Irrigation Checks

• View the irrigation schedule for each assigned area.
• Visit the relevant stations.
• Measure and record EC, water, and runoff readings.
• Record observations or problems identified during inspections.
• Sign off completed irrigation measurements

4. Oversee Pump House Activities

• Check daily pump house responsibilities.
• Ensure water pressure is checked.
• Ensure filters are cleaned and maintained.
• Identify and report pump or irrigation problems.
• Record the completion of required checks.

5. Verify Completed Tasks

• Review tasks completed by Tunnelmen.
• Check that the assigned work was performed correctly.
• Identify tasks requiring additional attention.
• Update task progress and verification status.
• Report outstanding issues to the Farm Manager.

6. Complete Daily Reporting

• Review completed and outstanding activities.
• Ensure required EC, water, and runoff measurements have been recorded and signed off.
• Record daily comments and observations.
• Report incomplete tasks, equipment problems, and irrigation issues to the Farm Manager.
