Operations

Operations provides floating teams, workers, tractors, drivers, and equipment to support farming activities across different farms. The Production Manager plans and allocates work, while Operations Teams execute assigned tasks and report progress. Farm Manager oversee activities taking place within their respective farms.

• Workers and Floating teams
  • Manage floating teams, including spraying, planting preparation, and general maintenance teams.
  • Assign teams to specific farms, blocks, or field areas based on planned activities.
  • Assign individual workers to tasks where required, particularly spraying workers and drivers.
  • Allow workers to be moved between teams when required.
  • Team leaders coordinate assigned workers and record completed work, where applicable.
  • Monitor team assignments and daily progress.
• Plant Preparation
  • Plant preparation activities are triggered by the Seeding Planner under Production.
  • Allocate preparation teams to blocks that need to be ready for planting.
  • For bag-based planting:
    • Remove old plants.
    • Remove or prepare existing bags, depending on the condition of the growing medium.
    • Mix growing medium using the assigned mixer, tractor, and workers.
    • Carry prepared bags into the growing areas.
    • Track completed rows, bags, and mixing loads.
  • For soil-based planting:
    • Allocate tractors and workers for soil preparation.
    • Perform ripping, fertilizing, and mulching activities.
    • Track completion of the assigned preparation tasks.
  • Monitor preparation progress to ensure blocks are ready before seedlings arrive.
• Planting Operations
  • Receive planting assignments based on the Production Manager's plan.
  • Allocate planting teams to the required farms and blocks.
  • Monitor planting progress by recording the number of rows completed.
  • Report completed and outstanding planting work.
  • Farm Manager monitor planting activities within their respective farms.
• Spraying Operations
  • Receive spraying tasks generated through the Spray Planner under Production.
  • Allocate individual spraying workers, tractor drivers, and equipment.
  • Execute spraying activities within the assigned farms and blocks.
  • Support tractor-based and drone spraying activities.
  • Record completed spraying tasks.
  • Report incomplete spraying activities or issues affecting execution.
• Tractors and Equipment
  • Manage tractors and their daily allocations across different farms.
  • Assign tractor drivers to their respective tractors.
  • Allocate tractors for spraying, plant preparation, mixing, cleaning, and other operational activities.
  • Track which tractors are assigned to specific tasks, farms, and blocks.
  • Record completed work, including tractor loads where applicable.
  • Monitor tractor availability and resource shortages.
• Cleaning and General Maintenance
  • Allocate cleaning and maintenance teams to specific farms and blocks.
  • Assign tractors and drivers to cleaning activities where required.
  • Carry out tasks such as removing old plants, clearing growing areas, and general farm cleaning.
  • Record the number of cleaning loads completed during the day.
  • Farm Managers verify and sign off the cleaning tractor's daily loads.
  • Support additional operational tasks assigned during daily planning.
• Operational Task Execution
  • View assigned tasks, farms, blocks, and daily instructions.
  • Record work completed by assigned teams or individual workers.
  • Track progress using relevant quantities, such as completed rows, bags, or tractor loads.
  • Report incomplete tasks and issues encountered during execution.
  • Make task progress available to the relevant Farm Manager and Production Manager.
